The Sudanese society for neurosciences SSNS was founded by the late Professor Daoud Mustafa  Khalid and Professor Hussin Suliman Abusalih in 1967. Both are well recognized Sudanese medical and society figures. It was the nucleus for planned work, training and neurosciences promotion in the country.

As the responsibilities grow bigger with life, the society has expanded successfully over the years carrying new members and ideas. Moreover, it potentiated its role of sharing scientific development in the region and world. It always proved its attendance and active participation in worldwide conferences and meetings. Recently it started to link with local patient’s societies like multiple sclerosis society in 2010.

SSNS is a nonprofit society with major scientific activities throughout the year.

  • The main is the international conference that takes place every 2 years.
  • There is a high rank annual nonprofit training course for junior doctors. This activity became very popular and attractive to doctors under training and seats are overbooked every year.

It mainly reviews most of the important theoretical knowledge in neurosciences and gives a chance to expose them to patient’s health problems with the objective of improving their clinical touch.
